Lisa McDonald is the Regional Head of Business Development, North America at Altura Governance, based in New York. She focuses on building relationships with investment managers across private equity, hedge funds, and digital asset strategies, identifying opportunities where Altura Governance can support clients through governance, risk, and compliance solutions tailored to the needs of global investment structures.
Lisa works closely with investment managers and industry intermediaries, including prime brokers, fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and both onshore and offshore legal counsel, helping connect managers with governance and operational support designed to strengthen institutional frameworks and regulatory alignment.
Prior to joining Altura Governance, Lisa was a Senior Vice President in Wealth Management at Jefferies Group, where she covered institutional investors, hedge funds, family offices, and high-net-worth clients. In this role, she provided equity research sales coverage and worked closely with clients across prime brokerage, capital markets, and corporate access, developing a strong understanding of the operational and strategic needs of investment managers.
Earlier in her career, Lisa was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Artemis Investment Management, where she co-managed more than $800 million in institutional assets, providing her with direct experience on the investment management side of the business.
Lisa holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. from Georgetown University. She also serves as a Board Member of the Virginia Chamber Orchestra, where she helped develop a program supporting the musical development of high school students.
