Valdin Bailey is an AEOI Specialist at Altura Governance, with over 14 years of experience in the Cayman Islands financial services industry, specialising in Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) frameworks — including FATCA, CRS, and the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF).
Throughout his career, Valdin has built and overseen compliance teams responsible for entity classification, onboarding, remediation, monitoring, and regulatory reporting, while providing strategic guidance to clients navigating an increasingly complex web of international tax transparency requirements. He has advised financial institutions, investment funds, and digital asset businesses on the implementation, oversight, and reporting obligations of global AEOI regimes, helping clients design compliance frameworks that are both robust and practical to operate.
Prior to joining Altura, Valdin held senior leadership roles at Provenance Ltd. and Waystone Regulatory Compliance Services Ltd., where he led AEOI compliance functions and managed multi-jurisdictional reporting programmes for a broad range of institutional clients. He has also worked through his own consultancy, Nyt Ltd., advising traditional financial institutions and emerging digital asset businesses on scalable compliance frameworks, onboarding procedures, due diligence programmes, and regulatory reporting solutions.
Valdin brings strong technical expertise in digital assets, blockchain technology, decentralised finance (DeFi), NFTs, and cryptocurrency operating models, with particular depth in the application of CARF to regulated entities and digital asset service providers. This combination of traditional financial services compliance experience and emerging digital asset expertise makes him a trusted advisor to organisations navigating today’s evolving regulatory environment.
He holds a Certificate on the Common Reporting Standard (CCRS) from the ICC Academy and an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting and Finance from the International College of the Cayman Islands.
